This auction, featuring pieces donated from Maine-based artists, is an effort to raise funds to keep our efforts in motion.

Maine Needs is striving to build a community where everyone helps and no one goes without. We do that by inviting everyone to dig in, get involved and help in whatever ways they can. By rallying those around us, we’ve been able to send more than one million basic material essentials to individuals and families all across the state, at no cost to them.

In Maine, 245,098 households are going without their basic needs being met. That’s 40% of maine. Additionally, an estimated 2,695 people in Maine are unhoused.

We believe that if we all do what we can to donate our time, energy, ideas, resources, talents or skills, together we can help ensure that everyone in Maine has what they need to not only get by, but to pursue the life they want.

Bid big! Our goal is to double what we’ve raised in past years so we can support people all throughout the coldest months of the year. We aim to be stocked with essentials and ready each and every time an outreach worker requests a pair of warm winter boots for an unhoused neighbor or a school needs snow pants so their students can safely play at recess or when a provider requests cold weather sleeping bags for a single mother and her children sleeping in their car.

We all have the same basic needs, but we don’t all have the same access to those needs. Maine Needs aims to change that and invites you to be part of the mission.
